I needed a low profile bed to fit in my guest room on the third floor of my house. The room is in the eaves so the lower bed is perfect for the space. And I couldn’t fit the boxspring up the stairs, so the platform allowed for not needing the boxspring

Love this bed, great quality and well made.

It lasted 5 years before the support bar split and before that the 2 bars that held up the support bar became useless. We are an average size couple, maybe even on the smaller end so I would expect a bed that costs this much to be better. I did not plan on replacing this bed frame for at least another 10 years.
