Use a soft (damp, not wet) cloth. Take care to wipe up spills quickly. Apply furniture polish to lacquered wood to enhance shine. If chips appear, they can be touched up by a professional using lacquer. Don't place hot pans/dishes directly onto a wooden surface. Marble: Marble, granite and other natural stones are beautiful, naturally occurring materials. They are both strong and durable but also porous and can stain or etch easily. You can seal or lacquer stone to resist stains and etching, but it is important to note that no sealer will completely protect the finish, especially from acids contained in many F&B consumables, and natural stones require proper care to keep them looking their best.
