I purchased this sleep sofa for my family room. If I need an extra sleep space for guests, this is what I selected. My number 1 reason for selecting this sofa is because it’s from Stearns Foster. I already own a mattress from them and have been extremely satisfied with the quality and comfort. I purposely sought out Stearns Foster to see if they even offered sleep sofas. I was pleased to see they did and also the mattress is more substantial at 8” thick versus many that are much thinner. The seating is firmer than many standard sofas, but that is to be expected when there is a mattress tucked into the sofa. For anyone who struggles to stand up from a sitting position, this sofa does make it easier to get up. Overall quality is excellent!

This is a very well constructed sofa sleeper. The sofa is comfortable and the mattress is the thickest (8 inches) that I've seen on a sleeper. It's heavy but the arms and back come off for easy delivery or moving it. It looks great in my den. The fabric is luxurious.

In Paul's view: While it has been designed with a bar straight across the frame, right below the side-sleepers shoulder, a concern for anyone shopping for a sofa bed, the ingenious folks at Sterns and Foster have solved that problem. All sofa beds have the bar, it’s structurally necessary to hold the frame together, and in order to fold up properly, manufacturers provide a memory foam or 3 or 4" padded mattress, which, over time, fails to protect you from the impact of repeatedly resting your weight on that dreaded bar. Enter: the Sterns & Foster 83" Queen Sleeper Sofa with 8" Pocket Coil Mattress. They made it firm, they made it thick, and that 8 inch pocket coil mattress completely eliminates any and all awareness of the bar. The comfort rivals sleeping on the deep mattress upstairs in our bedroom. We got the risky Beige color, and it looks beautiful. The cushions are firm as well, and the process of unfolding the bed is a little unusual, but not difficult at all.
