I thought it was solid wood as described in the description, but its only manufactured. I only opened the box to see it and did not touch anything inside. I got a refund, but still have to pay 70$ for the return even though the description information was misleading. Update: they offered me 20% discount to keep it which was around 90$. So I decided to keep the frame and buy real wood planks to replace the tablets with that money. Everybody wins, just a bit more work for me.

We bought 2 for the front room to design our own library. We love them. Went together easily and are sturdy.

This bookcase was the perfect addition to my den. It is a pretty solid piece. The vertical rails are metal(hollow). The shelves are mdf. It was also fairly easy to assemble with the help of a friend about 30 minutes. I didn’t attach to a wall, but that is an option if you want it to be completely secure.
