The island is fine and looks as pictured, but the casters are a serious danger! 2 locking casters and 2 swivel (non-locking) casters means that the island won't lock into place properly with casters installed. Either make the 2 non-locking casters fixed, or give 4 locking casters please. I installed the feet instead (good inclusion). Don't know about durability, but I suspect the island will require some gentle treatment since the shelves are all particle board with a thin veneer. Definitely would not cook, prep, or do anything heavy-duty on it like kneading dough. Serves its intended use as additional in-kitchen storage, though.
