REALLY disappointing assembly process. The machining of this product is astonishingly bad. The lowest shelf will not fit at all!! Must bend it!! UPDATE: I have found out that I am NOT able to bend the metal. This stuff is seriously strong iron. Therefore, the lowest shelf will simply not fit inside the opening it's intended to fit into. I am debating sending it back, but it would be a major pain. So if I must live with it, I had better review it and let others know that--although very sturdy and quite attractive--it was not a quality product insofar as machining the parts to fit together. (And I'm not mechanically inept either.)

Well made. Solid. Exactly as pictured.

This is a five star piece of furniture, but the photos don’t accurately portray the color by a long shot. I bought the gold (which is inaccurately listed as silver and white is listed for the silver color). In real life, the metal looks silver with a teeny bit of gold if the light catches just right, and the wood is a dark brown stain. This piece is not my style, but it had everything I was looking for in a bookcase- sturdy, solid wood with a high weight shelf capacity, and a usable ladder. I did not install with the provided tip over restraint device, and used the ladder immediately after setting up. It comes in two boxes that are both large and heavy. I’m 5’3”, 120 lbs, strong and fit. I was able to get them by myself from the front porch into the house. I didn’t have much distance to travel in my house, but was capable of bringing it to the second floor. I installed on my own. Simple, straightforward. I purchased two. I installed the pieces in the order instructed, and installed both in the finished product position (vertical) and lying on the floor (horizontal) then standing it up per instructions. Pros and cons to each method- some pieces will be more difficult and some will be easier. When installing vertical, I dropped the top piece. It hit the edges (somehow didn’t knock them down or destroy them), spun once or twice, then landed flat on the bottom. No damage whatsoever!

It's perfect ! And so easy to put together , the "white" description is wrong though, it's very much like stainless silver
