A perfect under window bench with open storage for shoes. Pair it with a padded top and it’s comfortable and sturdy for changing footwear or letting pets watch out the window.

The bench is perfect. Just what I wanted and hoped it would be. Very easy to assemble. Right height and color. I have shown it to my friends and they all think it is great. It is a little heavy and I’m hoping it will stay as study as it is now.

The bench arrived undamaged. The instructions, a drawing, were insufficient. Fortunately, the connections were designed so the upper long pieces could not be inserted in the lower position and the silver bolts would be out of sight when the bench was complete. It is still possible to insert the long pieces upside down! The upper one have tabs the should be orientated close to the top so that the short screws can reach the top and secure it. The lower ones seem to be symmetrical so you can't put them in upside down. Please note that the shortest screws provided will penetrate the lower shelf leaving the point of the screw poking up, ready to scratch and impale the unwary. You may wish to substitute shorter screws. A couple of careful strokes with a file solved the problem. Perhaps the manufacturer substituted a thinner material for the shelf. The top does not extend beyond the frame. This leaves a gap about the the width of the baseboard between the bench and the wall. I was worried the small items might fall into the gap. I am using the bench as a night stand and the gap proved to be handy as it provide an escape route for the electrical cords of the items on top. For those of you wondering if your baskets will fit on the shelf below the seat, the interior space on the bench measures 13 1/2" tall by 38 1/2" wide by 14 1/4 " deep. I dropped a star from the rating the screws penetrating the shelf. I would recommend this bench. In fact, I am about to order another!

I bought this bench to use as a shoe storage/mud room style area near the entrance of my home. It's been months now and it's working great. No issues at all.
