Sturdy. Works for my small apt as a desk and occ a table. Arrives with a gouge in it, but Wayfair sending a new desk so I can take out just the top (I had to put it together immediately as I needed a desk) put the damaged top in the box and Wayfair sent a FedEx slip so they will pick up the repackaged box. If it all works out that way, will be great
