Avra Upholstered Solid Wood Side Chair (Set of 2)

These are beautiful chairs and look a lot higher quality compared to the price point. I'll definitely agree with other reviewers that these are NOT easy to install if you use only the provided hex wrench - I'm a pretty handy person but the way the screws have to go into the chair you can only move the wrench about 1/4" at a time...it took me like 40 minutes to try to just get a couple of them in one chair until my boyfriend said "how about use the impact driver". Yes - to properly and efficiently assemble these you will need 1) a rubber mallet to tap the dowels into the seat boards 2) a drill 3) a 6" extender drill bit 4) a bit that will work as the hex wrench (e.g. star shape) and a Phillips bit for the other set of screws that go into the seat. Doing this with only the hex wrench will take you HOURS; using these tools will be 10 minutes per chair. The seat bottom also does not have pre-drilled holes - which at first was a bit like "ok, are these gonna go in the right spot..." but if you make sure the seat is all the way pushed back against the frame (chair will be upside down on a table at this stage) and then drop the screws into the pre drilled holes and again use the extender with the Phillips bit on the drill it'll work great.

I loved the look of the chairs however they were virtually impossible to assemble. After about 2 hours of trying to assemble one chair, we gave up. The side panels didn’t line up with the legs and there was very little room to maneuver the Allen wrench.

Chairs are cool in general, fabric is nice, wood is fine.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered two sets. The boxes arrived with a large hole. In one box the hardware wasn’t in the bag just loose everywhere. One came with 3 out of 4 drilled, the other came with 1 out of 4 drilled. Their resolution was to keep them for 25% off, or return them for a replacement.

PLEASE READ FULL REVIEW: I love these chairs! I ordered them in blue and they are the right height for me (I am 5'6"), and very comfortable. They are easy to assemble IF you receive the right pieces. One chair assembled with no problems. The second chair had defective parts that were missing holes, angled incorrectly, etc. I submitted a request to Wayfair for replacement parts and received them a week or so later. Those parts were also defective. I had to request parts again, and wait another week or so. Finally I have two chairs and they are great. The product is great, but Wayfair's quality control is very poor. I intended to order more chairs if I liked the first ones (and I do), but I am not sure that I will order any more now.
