Instructions were clear. It was what I was looking for and at a good price. Seems sturdy once assembled. Like anything this scale assembly takes time. Reason for 45 stars. Scratch on post. Not worth returning, but definitely noticeable. The little plastic tabs that hold the slats in place are hard to get in. Color is more cream than white. This i already expected from reading previous reviews.

This is exactly what I wanted for an extra bed for my grandkids when they visit. My husband and I put together in a couple of hours. The clips were the hardest thing to put in. The bed and instructions were very straightforward. The bed is very well made and sturdy. I wish the trundle had stops on the casters. Only negative because the trundle moves too easily. Still giving 5 stars tho. Bought 2 8” mattresses and they fit perfectly

Beautiful, but it was incredibly difficult to assemble. I know a lot of people said it was easy, but as a young woman, I just didn't have the strength in my thumbs to insert all the tiny plastic pieces without it being excruciatingly painful in the end. I'm not saying that to scare you - just know what if you don't have strong hands, it can hurt. I was in tears in the end. I'd recommend getting someone to help you. Additionally, the long metal bar that's wedged into the headboard was not fitting and I had no idea why. I finally had to use a mallet to pound it into place. It's probably the hardest thing I've personally ever assembled due to the pain-factor. Once the bed was done, it was very solid and high-quality. It works perfectly fine as a twin-size day bed. If you're making it a king size, I'd recommend getting a twin-to-king mattress converter. That eliminates the painful gap in the middle. For extra comfort you can add a king-size mattress topper, but I didn't do that due to lack of storage space (if I had the space I wouldn't need the trundle bed). Alternatively, it's more comfortable to sleep on it horizontally instead of vertically because of the gap in the middle.
