Instructions were only diagrams,which made the process slower. After a entire day of mistakes, I figured it out. There were paint defects on the shelf and one board was cracked, which I decided to glue together. . It's noisy when you open the platform. But overall it looks good.

You get what you pay for. I was hesitant to buy this bed because it was about 30% less expensive than the other compatible units, but I figured that may be because it has no shelving/storage. The quality matches the difference in cost assuming those more expensive beds are actually any better. This is a guest room bed which will be used a few times a year, so buying a higher quality unit for as little as it will be slept on is not worth it. The unit feels flimsy and of course it was delivered with non-functioning struts which make this a safety hazard unless you keep the bed in the down position. The struts (gas springs) are what hold the bed in the upright position and take the weight off when pulling the bed down. The first part of the directions are easy to work through, but as you get into the more detailed portion of the build later on the directions are useless. There is no written direction in the guide, just diagrams and the videos are from China (you will absolutely need to watch some of them to see what direction a board needs to be which is not noted in the diagrams). If this was a bed that would get heavy use I would question its durability to last several years.
