I have been using a bench and a banquette with our dining room table for years. While I love the look and it worked for teenagers, I don't find it enjoyable to entertain adults and host dinner parties and game nights. I have been agonizing about a new dining set and dreaded the idea of buying chairs, because they can be way more than the table. I found these after searching for so long. To me, they were inexpensive enough to use as a placeholder until I invested in a "real" quality dining set. They arrived and I actually LOVE the way they look. They are comfortable enough (haven't really sat in them for extended periods of time yet to say) and are elegant in shape and color. They actually look fantastic and exceeded my expectations in appearance. The color gold is just the right color to match the legs on my World Market table. Not a shiny gold, but a more brushed subdued gold. The velvet is soft and color is quite accurately represented in photos. I only wish the hardware wasn't so basic and visible and silver, as it cheapens the look. However, they are "cheap" chairs so, I can't complain. If I really care that much, I could touch them up with gold paint. I thought I might give these to my son for his first place when I finally find my "investment" sent of chairs, but I'm thinking I may keep these far longer than I expected. I got a rug here, too, to go under it that has geometric curves that mimic the shape of the chair and just ties it all together so well. I think I might be happy for quite some time and retire my search for a new dining set!
