Darker than the description- more like the 'mahogany' toned pieces popular 10 years ago. The finish is a satin varnish which gives the wood grain little depth. Feels solid, but looks cheap vs. the elegant look I was going for.

Gorgeous table! No problem extending it fully, the action is very smooth. Its central leaf is substantial and secures into place perfectly with brass latches. The construction is sturdy with no wobbling. The table's finish is slightly darker and more mahogany-toned than the product photos shown on the white background. The wrapped feet are a really lovely detail. This table makes me happy. I'd recommend for anyone who may use a coffee table sized space day-to-day, but need a little extra space for guests.
