This is a very nice and economical headboard. I really liked the color and style, so I kept it and made adjustments, even though it didnt fit my king size adjustable Sleep Number bed. I ended up simply placing the headboard behind the bed. Because my Sleep Number mattress sits upon a frame already, I did not need to use the parts included for a frame that attaches to the headboard. Instead, I unscrewed the pieces from behind the side panels and then used Alien Tape to affix them to my existing bedframe. This bed was very easy to build. I built it by myself with maybe an hour a little bit more than an hour. The instructions will clear on how to use all the materials that they packed into the back of the headboard. The only thing that wasn’t clear was where to put the slats when you were adding that in but again you can use your best judgment of where to add in the screws. I love the bed, I have no complaints the quality is really nice. I was able to carry and assemble this without assistance so if you wanted to assemble on your own it is possible. This bed did not need a box spring, but I did add one for extra height. The pictures with the white bedding is how it looks without a box spring and the one with stripes is how the bed looks with a box spring. There are a TON of beds similar to this for much cheaper, but it was nearly half off and several hundred more normally so I went for it. It is someone different than the many industrial look beds out . The mattress shown is 14” thick and not yet expanded. I think there might be a tolerable 1” gap if you got a 12” mattress. It’s really beautiful, all wood, and what one hopes for when getting the cheaper ones, which are fine for dorms. But this thing is really solid and unbelievably heavy.
