This screen is beautiful. It is not hand carved, it was probably lazer carved. The pattern was cut in a type of plywood, and the frame is solid wood. So the carved part is a bit two dimensional. But the upside is affordability and being light enough to pick up and move around. I am happy with it! The two way hinges are very nice, and the screen looks beautiful where I will be needing it to be used. FedEx dropped the box jn a pile of snow quite a distance from my house. The box was torn a bit. But… the screen was packaged so well by Wayfair it survived the FedEx abuse completely intact. Good work, Wayfair! I had a little hiccup installing the connector rods. Instructions said to install all 12 in the top section, however, I was having alignment issues. So I moved six to the bottom section and that did the trick. I was able to straighten it out using some fishing wire from the ceiling, and now it acts like a divider wall. I love it!. Sunshine. Works fine for my needs. The gold was a terrible yellow color so I spray painted it black to match the rest of my studio decor. I didn't use the curtains that came with it either as I wanted something that would contrast well with the color I painted the walls. And for anyone wondering: The curtains were just ok to begin with. They were linen on the outside and velvet on the inside. The black velvet looked nice and I feel the entire curtain should have been made of that material. The woven linen side seems kind of boring but if you have a small boutique, it would serve your purposes well. The poles are hollow but sturdy enough. Beautiful piece, and heavier/more solidly built than similar designs. Overall I'm happy with it, though it did arrive with some minor damage to one of the panels, and as others have noted, the white finish does rub off easily and get everywhere. I think I can easily repair the broken areas with wood glue and have decided to repaint it anyway (the distressing is uneven and makes the piece look lower quality than it is, the white is very chalky and uneven). The packaging was pretty good, but I don't know why they don't put a thin layer of foam between the panels, I think a lot of the breakage issues could be avoided with 1/4" thick sheet of foam to cushion the filigree work. The cutouts are very "rustic," so expect some rough areas and inconsistencies. The overall impression is still very nice, but I wouldn't put it near anything that could get snagged. A wonderful plus: my cat, who climbs everything, has not been able to scale this yet. I'm sure he'll keep trying, and maybe eventually manage it, but for now he has made 2 attempts and failed to get over it or knock it down, it's pretty sturdy.. Kimberly. El Cajon, CA.
