The lower priced recliner was our preference. And a lot of customers rated it highly. But there were a significant number of reports of defects. And peoole expressing a laxk of confidence in the durability of that chair. In contrast, this chair seemed to have a high confidence level. Some found that their initial impression was that the cushioning is too firm but they became more appreciative with further use. How about us? We're glad we trusted the customer reviews and spent a bit more. This recliner is sturdy, looks homey and is going to last. We find it comfortable. It looks like it's photo. And the fabric feels durable too. Just be aware of two things: The seat is deep so f you're a shorter person (5'6" or shorter), you'll want a throw pillow. Secondly, its heavy.
