This is going to be lengthy. Good things to say and other things that were disappointing.
Overall it is a great chair but it is HUGE so be aware of your surroundings which I was not -- at least not totally. However, the reason for purchasing this chair was due to injury 3 months ago in an auto accident. The width of the seat is helpful with pressure on buttocks and thigh of the injured leg. Overall, the comfort is very nice. Top quality leather.
Some of the issues.
1. Please look at the photo and see the color of the chair received compared to the color of the chair shown on both Wayfair and Penn website. While the chair received is actually Cherry there is a cherry color that would approximate the chair shown. It would have been much more accurate to have shown the chair in dark cherry. While the dark cherry does work with my desks reasonably well, the other color was more exciting to me and would fit with other furniture and wall colors in the office/family room location.
2. The lacquer/finish to the wood area of the chair would have been nice to be thicker as right now it does not have to bump something very hard to nick the coating of the wood so touch ups are required. Keep in mind that this is an approximately $3500 chair not including any taxation.
3. No user manual either included or available online. I mention this because the 2 handle - one on each side just below the arms of the chair don't seem to do anything and I am not sure what they should do. Also the item to be use to change the height of the chair is so hidden beneath the large seat that it is almost impossible to reach. With my injury, it is currently not usable by me so my adult son had to make the adjustments.
4. For some, it may be of inteerst to know that on some carpets like ours, the chair will not roll at all. Fortunately, I did have a faux wood carpet cover before and by just adjusting its location the chair will mover when necessary. If I can I try to locate the chair so by simply rotating it I can access both desks and work at one and do computer work at the other
5. This in is not meant to be negative as Wayfair di the job of adjusting the price due to their Black Friday price reduction a day after my order had been placed.
I had pleasant discussions with all three service reps as the issue was escallatd. However it should not have taken the time and effort i did.
I pointed ot to Wayfair the due to the reduction and particularly considering the order was not delivered having only been ordered one day earlier could have been handled totally differently.
Why not a simple emal advising the customer that a price reduction has taken place and we are crediting your account in that amount. Would that now have gotten a glowing review of Wayfair and the product?
