This table is beyond my expectations! The quality is outstanding so I feel that I received all the value and more for the money I spent. My husband and I were able to put it together with no problems. All chairs and the table are solid and very sturdy. The chairs seats are definitely brown. I read on a review that they were a bit pinky, but I don’t see that. The packaging was excellent and there are no unexpected marks on any of the pieces. I would highly recommend this table.. Debbie. This set is beautiful, a perfect size for my space. It is as pictured. The cherry finish is not overly “ red”. Matches my cabinetry very well. Solid feeling set, chain/ gears for the expansion leaf. There was a small nick in table edge, should cover easily. There was a scratch , maybe just in the varnish, of the pedestal base, won’t easily be seen. I had this set shipped outside of the US (Wayfair delivered to my freight forwarder). It arrived without any scratches, dents etc. Very satisfied with the packaging. I took a gamble when I bought this set as it was a new product and there were no available reviews on Wayfair. However, the dimensions were perfect for me and I loved the design on the chairs. This set looks more expensive than what I paid. I get a lot of compliments on the chairs. The product description indicates that you can put hot stuff on the tabletop but I've been too coward to try as I don't want to ruin my lovely dinning set. I was also worried about not having upholstered seat chairs as this could get uncomfortable to sit on for long periods. However, I must say that these chairs are very comfortable, even the way the back rest is shaped makes it very comfortable to sit on. I'm not sure about the assembly though as it was done by two relatives who wanted to surprise me while I was at work. However, I was told that you need two people to open the leaf.
