This desk is absolutely perfect in my guest / art room! It was a bit more money than I wanted to spend but it went along with the aesthetic of the room. Plus, it is a very nice desk, very sturdy and well built. The drawers have a flawless mechanism and pull out nicely. I am extremely pleased with this purchase. Some things to note about the desk, 1. This was the hardest piece of furniture I've put together so far. 2. It took me like 3-4 hours by myself and I was quite sore afterwards. 3. It is heavy! 4. It takes some finessing to put together. Some of the holes on the metal parts don't line up EXACTLY, especially if you tighten the screws too tight on the first 10 steps. But I did manage to get every single screw in. 5. The visible screws are golden in color, matching the metal legs, giving it a seamless color transition. This desk was exactly what I was looking for! It has three roomy pull-out drawers (all sorts of things in there and two long open shelves (where I store a lightboard, binders, folders, books, as well as a colored-pencil set). A smaller three-level display shelf at the front holds pictures and cute knickknacks. The table top is super long with surface space for dual projects (laptop and artsy endeavors like calligraphy and drawing), electric pencil sharpener and a large plant...and there is still room! Another slightly lower table top to my right holds items like my coffee mug, pen/pencil holders, handy notebook, etc.--everything within arms' reach and amazingly organized.
