I absolutely love this solid real wood island! You can't beat the price. Well it is real wood, it is a lighter wood. I did have a few small pieces with some splintering defects because of this, but nothing a little wood glue can't fix. Other than that, I didn't have any issues with assembly like what other reviewers noted. I found assembly to be rather easy. The pieces were all numbered, but a lot of the numbers had fallen off in the box or elsewhere. This wasn't a big deal as the instructions have good pictures and I was able to figure out which pieces correlated with which numbers. It is Perfect in every way possible for us❣️ The look and colors fit into our 103 year old Craftsman House so well. Where our last island was open underneath, the Dodge Kitchen Island has plenty of closed storage space for a much less cluttered feel. Our last island was shorter in length, narrower in width; the Dodge Kitchen Island gives my SO/Fiance-Chef PLENTY of Counter Space to work with at an area of 60 by 30 inches! This means he can store his Kitchen Knives, Cutting Boards, Basket of cooking oils, plus a few other items, AND still have room to work!! We began searching for a kitchen island last year when we came across this Dodge Kitchen Island, but the price was out of range for us at the time. I saved the link, checked in now and then, looking, patiently waiting, hoping for a sale. Occasionally it did go on sale, not in a way that made it affordable for us. So I kept saving money for it. One night in the wee hours, scrolling through Wayfair I saw that it had gone on sale again, the price was $400 off; I hemmed and hawed, then just threw it in the cart and BOUGHT IT❣️ My husband-to-be LOVES cooking, I knew he LOVED THIS kitchen island, and he deserves the BEST. He woke in the middle of the night, I told him what I did, he said, "YOU WHAT??! THAT'S INSANE". I said, we do have the money in savings, you know I can rebuild it again, and you deserve the kitchen of your dreams. By morning he agreed, and now HE LOVES IT❣️ This island is very well made with thick, sturdy, pine. The wheels were in a packet strapped in the right side cupboard, the strap is screwed down; you will need a phillips screwdriver to remove it if your Pro-Relo shipper/driver does not do this for you. You will use the same screwdriver to remove the screws that are holding the front-side doors open, (they do this to keep the doors from sliding around during shipping). On the TOWEL RACK, you need not bump your knees, ROFL! The Towel Rack was merely screwed there for shipping purposes. Zip tied to the towel rack is an envelope, screws, a template, and directions; this is for you to use so you can place that towel rack at either end of the island. Chris, my Dear Love & SO says to tell you this: "Unless somebody is very skilled with a drill/driver, screw them in with a (non powered) screwdriver. It would be very easy to strip them out with just a little too much torque applied." I do believe he is correct in his assessment, pine is a VERY soft wood, if you strip out the hole you are attempting to screw the screw into, (don't say it, I know what you are thinking ), you will not be able to use said hole for placing the towel rack there. This cart is functional, pretty, and exactly what I needed for my kitchen space. Solid wood, easy to put together. The instructions were clear, and easy to follow. It lost one star because I only received one cabinet knob, not two, and had to run to the hardware store to purchase replacements to complete the build. The customer service center was closed for the weekend by the time I realized the error, but regardless I wanted it completed, so off I went. Replacement knobs in hand, the rest of the assembly went smoothly. Getting the top placed correctly was a teensy bit tricky, I do wish there had been some indication as to what was the front or back, but I managed to get it done. 59" Kitchen Island with solid storage shelves, power strip and drawers! I love this piece. I live in 200 sq ft. so a large piece like this is a tight fit but so useful for me. What I love the most is the tabletop. It is smooth and so wide! I can use it to roll out pasta! I use it to mix things up before I cook them. I use it for my dishes and pantry all together. I never put the trash bin together because the open storage is a huge plus. Love the drawers! I have this up against a wall, but the back allows for either more storage or a great place for pet beds. So many options with apiece this big. I will say this is a two person build and it takes a while. I go slow so I expect for regular non-old folks you can do it all in one day. Took us two. Run away as fast as you can. This is the fist time I have ever bought a pice of furniture that is so bad that it is going straight to the curb for trash and the manufacturer is NOT listening. The number of reviews where people have said, “wayfair made it right” well, wayfair is getting wrong. I told them repeated that I did not want a replacement as my resolution and they just emailed me and said they are sending me a new one I put this whole thing together and then found out the blue piece of hardware in my pics doesn’t stay secured into the wood on the blue end. It didn’t stay secure at any of the joints. So the whole thing folded like a house of cards. Went to Lowe’s and bought glue. Started over from the beginning with glue in every place I could put glue. It helped 80% but you can see in my 3rd picture it was already pulling apart on the same end of the hardware after only 24 hours. Then we have the silver locking piece. They keep falling out. We walk into the room and one will be on the floor. I have built a lot of furniture. I actually enjoy it and this piece has made me question my life decisions. If you decide to try it anyway. Please plan on gluing everything. Also plan on going to slow that you are using clamps to hold all the sections together. You are going to have to treat this like a carpenter in the wood shop and you will need two people to get it together. The other thing not pictured is that it came with a huge crack down the back board of one of the shelves. That is something that could have been replaced but because rhe predrilled holes for the blue pieces are to big for the hardware, I did not think this deserved more than 1 star. This kitchen cart is an extremely useful and smart addition in any kitchen.

We love this cart. Compact design but plenty roomy with nice-sized drawer. Real wood except for fiberboard with veneer for the back panel and drawer bottom, sturdy construction. Predrilled holes lined up perfectly, screws were all included. Instructions were mainly visual with a few tips here and there, mainly regarding adjusting the doors. Other reviewers have complained that the doors don't line up, and they don't until you adjust them, which involves removing the magnets in the front support and removing the top shelf so that the door hinges can be gently teased to an obtuse angle until they rest parallel to the bottom front support bar. When the magnets are replaced, they snug the doors up just perfectly. And the magnets can be moved further in or further out by positioning the screw in one of the two screw positions in the magnet bracket. The wooden screw hole plugs add a nice finished look to the piece. On the con side, the slatted shelves are attractive, but given the choice, I'd have preferred a solid bottom to prevent an insect or mouse from finding its way in. Also, assembly required some skill and in my case, 2 people and a few hours to finish. And finally, a few pieces were labeled, but labeling all of them would have been helpful. I wanted an inexpensive "island" for my kitchen to see if I would like a permanent one. This works. I like that it is solid wood and I like the design. I like the handy towel bar. I had my husband tack up the top shelf so I can pull a stool up to it when I'm working in the kitchen for long periods of time; that works also. The problems: (1) the locking wheels do not works so I'm constantly moving it back into position (2) the knife holder is weird. I thought this was a hinged table-top extension that you could raise when you needed extra space. Turns out it's a block of wood with slots for knives. When you put the knives in the slots, they stick up over the top of the island and that doesn't look nice. Even my husband commented about it not looking nice.
