This is one of those extremely rare times when I would choose zero stars if that were an option. And its at least partially my fault for not looking closely at the photo and description in the listing, but I was totally unprepared for how heinous this thing is in person. Its TOTALLY covered in glitter. Glitter is EVIL. Tiny bits of shiny plastic that get everywhere and are almost impossible to escape from once theyve been unleashed. Plus it makes this thing look really tacky and cheap. I purchased it as a gift for my sister-in-law, who loves monarch butterflies, because the item looked like it could be the caterpillar of a monarch butterfly, and you have to have the caterpillar before you can have the butterfly (smile). I knew it was made of glass, but somehow I missed the part about the thick and complete coating of glitter. If I knew of a way to get all the glitter off it without damaging it, I would, because that would be its only chance for salvation. I cannot give this to my sister-in-law, or to anyone else, because its trash and it would clearly be an insult to the unfortunate recipient. When I shared my dismay with Wayfair, they offered me 10 back on the purchase, as if ANYthing could possibly make up for this horrible thing I bought. Nope. Wayfair needs to purge itself of this specimen so no one else makes the horrible mistake of buying one themselves. On the positive side, though, the other two items in that same Wayfair order were well received, so the order itself wasnt a total loss. On a personal note, lesson learned prior to making any other potential online purchase, I will need to make sure Ive read the ENTIRE description of the item, and ALL of the specifications, and I also need to examine the photos in the listings VERY carefully. It wont be a guarantee that I wont unintentionally throw money away on a piece of garbage again, but hopefully it will at least lessen the likelihood of doing so. Happy shopping!
