Stunned - so perfect. Unwrapping the packaging about killed me, however. Box says fragile fifteen to twenty times but I needed a crowbar to get through the cardboard the tape the second layer of cardboard more tape metal things styrofoam taped of course and more - then it needed to be assembled. It's probably a good thing it is so great. Ordered another. Hope it's not msiled. by same sadistic wrapper.

Very practical step stool we purchased for our kitchen. It is very handy to reach from it for the top shelves of our cabinets. I feel comfortable, when braced against the furniture, using the top step in this stool (I'm a "feather weight"). It also complements our kitchen and goes rather nicely with our 1850-1880s French antique furniture we have in the adjoining family room (photos attached). I'm pleased we purchased this step stool and I would recommend it.

Pretty. Better for decoration than for heavy use.

This item is beautiful, but it is not a step stool. When I bought it in January, there was no weight capacity listed--I'm 99% sure of this because I looked very carefully at the specifications to see if it would fit into a particular space and even wrote to ask about additional measurements. However, terms like "maximum safe reach height" certainly present it as a functional step stool, so I didn't think to question the capacity. I had been using it without a problem for several months and it was fine other than the screws needed to be tightened occasionally. But a friend (not a huge guy, maybe 150 lbs.) came over recently and when he put weight on the second step it cracked badly under his weight, which was embarrassing for him, embarrassing for me, and since the entire side of the ladder is one piece, it is now useless. This really is the most attractive step stool on the market so I wish it were actually functional, but please be aware of and heed the weight guidelines.
