Telescoping Round Toilet Seat and Lid 5025B65G.020

I needed to upgrade from the seat that came with the toilet. Wanted to stay with American Standard. Compared to the cheap factory seat, this one has good strong hardwear for mounting. I really like this romovable option for cleaning, much easier.

So far so good. Definitely an improvement on the previous generation that it is replacing. Much better mounting system. Hopefully this one won't crack like the previous one did.

This is a pricey toilet seat but it has been smartly redesigned from the original that it replaced. Hopefully this will address the stress cracks that have been mentioned in previous review (and the we also experienced). The ease of release for cleaning and the slow close can't be beat.

I bought a newly completed condo in 2016 with this toilet lid used on the toilet. Within a year the lid had begun to crack starting from near one of the hinges, and eventually spread around to the other hinge in an arc (shown in photo). I’ve never experienced a toilet lid crack like this, and so soon. I have never sat on nor placed any sort of weight on the lid, so I’m not sure how this issue could happen like this.

I bought my toilets a few years ago, but same issue, both of the seats cracked right by the bolts! I had intended to replace them right away, but instead just removed to top cover and left it off because of the replacement cost was high , also I noticed the seats shift off center easily & to tighten them more I’m worried it might crack the bowl! it seems likely it’ll just happen all over again from the reviews?! I was looking for an option to replace it especially now since it has also yellowed & kind of unsightly.
