I wanted a barn door for my laundry room as the space is small and overall tight with current layout. The barn door itself is beautiful and fits what I needed for it. The install and instructions though are why I put 3 stars. The instructions are pretty hard to follow and are supposed to be universal but has steps in that you don’t really need to use. The manufacturer sent the wrong mounting equipment as well, so we had to make a lot of modifications. If you are handy and willing to figure things out on your own- this is the door for you. If you aren’t (like me) then I would stay away.

I love this door, it matched our decor perfectly. We had an awkward door in the master bathroom. When it was open it blocked the tub. This door solved that problem for us. Plan plenty of time to assemble everything...it took us close 4 hours to complete the project. It was a bit tricky to put together and hang, definitely not a 1 man job unless you have large clamps. We used 1-2 people to hold the door planks tight and one to screw the top and bottom boards in place. We chose not to remove the old bathroom door trim moulding, so we needed to use the spacers and extra washers for the door to clear the trim. It is a rustic door, made from soft pine wood, so it’s easy to mar the wood and the planks were a little warped, that’s why it took someone squeezing the planks together. The floor guide is way too short, as are the screws, to install on thick carpet. They would probably work on hardwood floors. We will need to purchase a new guide for it to actually reach the bottom guide track. Be sure to measure and level things often, getting it right is important for the door to work well. The instructions were somewhat poorly translated and are sometimes only in mm, some were converted to inches. The instructions said to use a chainsaw for one step, but no saw was needed. We still have no idea what they were trying to say. Overall we love the door and would definitely buy it again.

This door requires assembly.....and I mean assembly of multiple pieces of wood no wider than 5". I received the tall but narrow box and thought that it was a mis-ship. It was not.....I will ask for help in assembling this box of wood and send pics when done with the amount of assembly time it required. The wood is natural so expect lots of knots and texture. I ordered the unfinished one and will stain it the same color as my trim.

Absolutely love this barn door! It is super heavy duty and high quality wood. It comes apart but ready to assemble, and is very easy to do so! Took us maybe half an hour to put it all together. We still have to paint the door, assemble the rail, and hang it... but it comes with all the hardware to do so and seems easy enough. Definitely reccomend for anyone needing a nice, and still inexpensive, barn door!

The door i ordered was unfinished. It took about 5 coats of good quality paint to cover all the knots and cracks. I am sure stain wouldve been a lot easier, and the pre stained options are probably even better than the unfinished. The fit of the boards was actually very good, and I had hardly any warping of the boards out of the box. Install was fairly easy but the instructions are horrible!! There is a lot of guesswork and several packages of hardware that arent even mentioned in the instructions. Overall, I think the pre stained option is the way to go, and the price is pretty good considering it includes the track and hardware unlike a lot of the other options on wayfair.
