The wood is beautiful, solid, light in color. I like it enough to keep, but a couple of issues I should point out. One of the metal ends arrived with a small dent - I put it facing down. The middle metal connector is a little larger than needed and makes me worried someone might slide their hand at the wrong angle and get caught up on it. I had to go ahead and put it up for my older parents to use while visiting and just pointed it out to them. But again, I do like it!
