This is a nice looking mantel. It is solid wood with actual stain. It came well packaged and didn’t have any damage from transit. Came with everything needed for install, and went up really easy. I expected a cooler tone “oak” and this is definitely more a honeyyellow tone. We sanded it down and did a tan wash to tone it to the driftwood style we wanted. Photos show the original mantel (darker) and our lighter, refinished final product.
