It actually works great to point. When taking a long shower it will momentarily cool down then heat back up.

In this purchase, Wayfair gets 5 stars for offering this model at a price substantially lower than any other retailer/distributor. Delivery was just one day and earlier than promised, shipped directly from the distributor with excellent delivery status communication. I had a hard time finding any user review on this heater (it may be a newer model), so I'll be comprehensive here for others shopping it. I wanted their latest 6 GPM wifi connected version that offers helpful data logging but it was too pricey. As a general contractor, I consider "builder models" basic in features and heavily focused on low purchase cost. However this heater seems sturdy, competent, and well designed. Instructions are good, although a bit generic. Packaging is very good. Pre-purchase chat support online was prompt, pleasant, and generally helpful. Eccotemp is a recognized name in water heating within a sea of unrecognizable Chinese brands. They have a location in South Carolina and seem to stand behind their products. Hookup is straightforward. At 140,000 BTU, you'll need 3/4" NG gas supply all the way to the heater, so keep that in mind. You'll also need very expensive stainless steel exhaust venting in the shortest possible run. You can't vent through a traditional chimney or any long vertical exit, so it's best to locate it near an outside wall with horizontal termination. Tankless gas heaters uniquely require isolation valves ($50-$100) to descale the heating chamber lines annually. Electrically it's perfect and maintains settings in a power failure. At <50 watts of draw, I expect it would run fine during a power outage if plugged in to a medium size personal computer UPS. Operationally, it does the job, although tankless heating takes getting used to. Although it promotes as 6 GPM, the federal efficiency label states that it's 3.6 GPM and classifies it in the 2.8-4.0 GPM heater category. That concerned me with a 3 bath home, but it keeps up in supplying 2-3 fixtures simultaneously, which is all most homes need. At ~65 F cold water input, it can push out 140 F temperature (to one appliance) if desired, so it's got some muscle. Tankless heaters struggle with rapid on-off-on-off use. They have to start instantly when a valve is opened and shut off immediately when flow stops. Residual heat in the chamber creates a "slug" of very hot water and the lag in short duration shut-offs create cold slugs in the pipe flow. So hand-washing dishes at a kitchen sink doesn't work well when you constantly valve the water flow on-off-on. In contrast, tank heaters are 100% consistent in the temp of every drop of water that exits the heater because it's waiting in standby. Adding to this issue for NG/propane heaters is that they must fully start and stop every time the valve is open/shut, wearing on relays, igniter, blower motor, etc.. To resolve this, our project will isolate the kitchen faucet/dishwasher to use its own small undersink 14 kW electric tankless unit. In summary, you won't find a better bang for the buck than this branded and well-supported 6 GPM builder model. But if it's your first tankless/instant heater, prepare for some differences in how it operates.

It looks great. I may not install it for a couple of weeks until my tub is installed. I spoke to an employee whom works for the co. where the On Demand Hot water Heater came from and I was able to have all my questions, answered.
