First, we LOVE the look of this! It is beautiful above the chandelier; it makes quite a statement! However, it was very challenging putting it up. It has to be screwed into the ceiling. We tried, several times, to just use heavy duty adhesive, which was recommended in several tutorials we watched, but it didn't work. That didn't work because the back is not flat. There is a 3-4 inch flat ring around the outside, then it steps down for the entire center of the medallion. So, there is a lot more of the medallion that doesn't sit flat against the ceiling than does. Also, the pieces don't match up exactly once it's mounted. So, now we have screw holes and a seam to fill in, along with the seam between medallion & ceiling (which we'd have to do with any of them). I just hope the pattern isn't distorted with the caulk. Because of all the shifting of the piece trying to get it to line up and stay up, there's adhesive on the ceiling and on the medallion that we have to touch up. Love the look. Hated the install. Will put up more medallions in our home, but only one piece! Before & after photos included.
