In the item description it stated that the luster tone finish helps hide scratches and deep scratches could be repaired. The unit I received had a number of marks in the finish and also at the top of the basin the finish looked as if a file had been drag across it leaving marks that were not consistent with the rest of the finish. The size of this unit is exactly what I need and was very difficult to find and since it will be heavily used wAshing cast iron pots and pans I will keep it.
