I would give this zero stars if I could, this shower system has turned out to be a very costly nightmare.
After installation, we discovered the wrong trimfaceplate for the valve was included. (This wasn’t discoverable before hand because the handle attachments on the valve were enclosed in an opaque plastic cover for protection and you cut off the cover after the valve is welded into the pipes and the tile surround is finished, as you can see in the attached picture from the manufacturers instructions).
I contacted Wayfair (and the manufacturer) about the issue. Wayfair promptly explained they didn’t have replacement faceplatestrim, but would send us a new system. (The manufacturer ignored my phone calls and emails and told my contractor we needed to go through Wayfair because that’s where we purchased it.).
Today we received the replacement. The faceplate still doesn’t fit! The replacement system also came with a completely different valve which, of course, does fit all of the faceplates! But we can’t just replace the valve since the original one is literally welded into our pipes and behind our tile.
Wayfair doesn’t have a solution so far, the manufacturer still isn’t responding, the valve that is installed is non-standard and literally no one else makes faceplates that will fit it (our contractor has called around to basically everyone). Our options are either 1) try to find someone to custom make a faceplate or, 2) have our contractor uninstalll the current valve (tearing out our new tile, cutting through the pipes) and then install a new one that the faceplatetrim actually exists for (ie, have a plumber come out and weld the new valve into the pipes and then redo the tile), both of which are going to be incredibly costly and time consuming.
I wish I had never bought this. It is very pretty, but the manufacturer’s quality control and responsiveness is abysmal and I would rather pay more money for a less pretty system never to experience this sort of headache again.
