It switches from a solid stream to a very nice spray pattern that cleans well without going in all different directions. The knob to turn the faucet on and off or adjust the hot and cold water moves very gently and is easy maneuver. The button to switch to the spray setting is also very easy to press and switch back and forth between settings. The retractable nozzle goes in and out with ease. This faucet is definitely quality and made very well. It feels like it will hold up well over time.
