Bought this for the guest bath. I did not want to have to use a thermostatic diverter valve so this was a great alternative. The supply always goes to the hand wand. To use the rain shower, you slide the hand wide into the shower pipe.

High quality and a great product. I got it for the master bathroom and loved the look and function of the shower head that I replaced a one year new Kohler Forte shower head in the guest bathroom with this one.

Was not happy with the design. It does not explain in the description that the hand held shower goes inside the tube in order to shower from the overhead spout. When removed we assumed it would leak all over the floor as it was to be used with a freestanding tub.
