I was anxious ordering this because of the lack of reviews and because of the high price. I selected it because I weigh less than this stove and my strength is moderate at best so anything cast iron was out of the question to move down the stairs of my home. The main caveat to my review is that this is my first wood burning stove so I have nothing to compare it to and it is intended to be primarily decorative so I’m not really testing its heating capacity (also it arrived in June). Overall impressions, it seems really high quality to me. It looks beautiful and functions well. It arrived in pristine condition and held up well to my honestly pretty rough handling of it as I pulled it up and down stairs. Barely a scratch on it despite it tipping over once and slamming down to the ground several times as I pulled it up my porch steps. The metal didn’t even dent during all of that. It is very sturdy. When it comes to the total weight and ease of moving, it is very easy to remove to door so you don’t need to worry about the glass shattering in case there are any mishaps. I was able to pry out the vermiculite board in addition to removing the door which brought the weight down by probably close to 30 lbs. Nothing else was easily removable. For installation, the top of the stove is 39.5 inches. I didn’t measure before sticking it inside another pipe, but the male connector at the top is about 4-5 inches on top of that (I wasn’t sure whether the 39.5 in was the top of the stove or top of the connector when I ordered). The fit between the male connector on the top of the stove and the female pipe is very tight to the point where I had to really fuss with it using pliers and rubber mallet to get it to fit into the female pipe end.
