Pros: Looks nice, gentle magnetic latching, nice lighting.
Cons Cheap basic hinge, no trim around edges so wall opening must be done right.
Overall the mirror looks and feels great. The lighting works great and so does defogging. It's only been a week so I hope the defogging doesn't fail like other reviewers stated. We don't use it much though.
I bought two other medicine cabinets for another bathroom and this one is sub-par with only a basic piano wire type hinge along the side, not the hinges you see in modern cabinets with soft close. So there's no soft close but the doors swings smoothly when leveled properly and doesn't require a loud closure or excessive pull to open since it closes with a light duty magnetic closure. Some magnets can be too much!
My installer thought he'd be able to have some leeway on the opening in the wall for a recessed install. This mirror, unlike my other two has ZERO trim around the recessed box. The mirror border is wider but if there's any gap where the box goes in the wall you WILL notice. Top and sides! The installer had to fill in the area with caulk and backer rod, and was tempted to add drywall mud.
I'm not sure if you could put this mirror on a light switch as it defaults to off when powered I believe, so we did not tie it to a switch.
I do appreciate the shelves in this one over our other similar medicine cabinets in that they can be adjusted after install. Many similar ones have to have shelf supports removed from the outside edge which is impossible after install! Beware!
Lastly, this one does not have an outlet or lighting built in. Just know this when shopping for similar products.
