I'm so glad I was able to find 2 handle tub/shower faucets at a reasonable price. I installed a 2 handle unit in my tub/shower years ago. When I went to update the bathroom faucets I couldn't find any 2 handle faucets. I didn't want to tear out my nice tile shower wall to install a single handle unit, so I had to leave in my old polished brass and wood handles in the shower, and put a new unmatched sink unit to go with the countertops. Now that I'm finally updating the bathroom again I searched first for the 2 handle shower/tub faucets and found several, then picked the sink faucet and several other bathroom accessories in the same pattern. The new unit does not work like the old one with one hot handle and one cold handle. Instead the left handle controls the force of the water flow, and the right handle controls the temperature. If you like a specific temperature for your shower you can set the right handle at that point in the temperature range and just leave it there, then turn your water on and off with the left handle. This arrangement did require my plumber to run the hot line differently so it took extra plumbing time to set up the lines correctly, but I finally have matching shower and sink faucets. Yay!
