We had a Kohler Devonshire K-1357-G Bubblemassage tub installed about 15 years ago. At about 10 years of age, its motor and controller failed. We lived with it this way until recently when we were doing some other remodeling work. We initially wanted to replace this Kohler Devonshire tub with a Toto brand since we have been impressed Toto toilets (find them to be much better than Kohler). Unfortunately Toto did not offer the color we were looking for. We reluctantly decided we would try a Kohler again. Since the Kohler Devonshire is no longer offered, we settled on what we felt was the closest, a Kohler Archer. In the final stages of installation and testing by running water into the tub and turning on the pump, we found that a plastic / PVC connector on the Kohler Archer was defective with a crack and spraying water everywhere. :-| How could such a defect not have been found by Kohler prior to shipment? Does Kohler not doing quality checks? Goes without saying this experience has left us even more disappointed with Kohler products. I doubt we will purchase a Kohler product in the future. Now we’re faced with removing this defective tub, leaving the bathroom torn apart for several additional weeks waiting for a replacement and going through another installation.
