We bought this valve to replace the same one we were very happy which we had installed in 2004. The new valve handle is now made of a much cheaper chrome plated plastic and the threads on it that engage it into the valve body are flimsy and have come loose in less than a year of use. Now we aren't sure if the handle will stay on or fall off every time we use the shower. Not the quality we had come to expect from Kohler over the years. I am an architect by trade and sadly I find myself very dissapointed with the trend towards cheaper parts I am seeing all to often on many products including Kohler.

Moved into a home where the master bath was recently re-modeled with this faucet (K-TS10277-4-BN), which looks great. The problem is that the faucet only allows the hot water through and does not mix in cold water. My contractor says it is most likely the valve behind the faucet. Now, I am having to look for a new faucet.

My handle is just 12 years old & an extremely cheap piece of plastic inside it broke so it would not turn. I had to disassemble it to even get the water to stop and the faucet off. Really poor parts inside. Outside looks great but cheap on the inside!
