This product looks nice installed, but the ball joint, which rotates to angle the hand held shower attachment while in the holder, is threaded to the holder. Eventually the threads become loose and the shower head just flops down. We’ve had ours just over a year and it needs to be replaced.

Seems like a good quality fixture, but I think the instructions are wrong. They say to install the pipe nipple so that it is 11/16in clear of the finished wall. I managed to be about 1/32in under that (hard to guess how thick the adhesive will end up behind a 1/2in thick composite stone wall). When I went to thread the fixture on, there was about 3/16in clear between wall and brass ring on the fixture. I took the fixture off and looked at the threads. By micrometer, there's just over 9/16in depth, and it hasn't been threaded full depth. I called Kohler, they were extremely helpful as always and sent me the engineering drawings, which matched what I measured. Instead of tearing the wall apart, I took the nipple out, cut it down by a 1/4in, rethreaded it, reinstalled it, and now the fixture contacts the wall at the base, giving stability and strength to the install. So, I'd recommend installing the pipe nipple at most 1/2in clear of the finished shower wall.
