Soft close...what else could be better

My Kohler Saile is a quiet close type toilet seat with grip-tight feature It works just ok, nothing special. One problem is the lid does not feel sturdy enough to sit on when in the closed position. Also, you cannot lean back on the open lid as a back rest when using the toilet, because the lid has these edges designed into the product.
