The woman looked into it and assured me that the construction of the sink has a sound reduction technology within the metal. She assured me this is a usual thing for this unit. Interior is exquisite burnished stainless, and beautifully contoured. The flat surface at the upper edges has a slightly rougher texture. This will undoubtedly smooth over time. Shipping something like this is by definition problematic.
