I know that the goal is to save water. But the 1.28 gallon flush is pretty weak. I was able to upgrade it with a dual-flush kit and it now uses about 2.5 gallons for a full flush and about 1.25 gallons for a half flush. This seems pretty ideal to me. Initially, I was disappointed that it didn't originally come with dual-flush option. But the kit I bought may well be even better than what Kohler would provide in a dual flush unit. So I guess it worked out that it came basic.
I specifically wanted black. With a less common rough in size of 14”. I could not find a lot of options. There is a Toto one-piece toilet that met the requirements. And I am sure it’s nice. But it costs 1500. I don’t want to spend that much on a toilet. And honestly, I prefer a two-piece anyway. So, this is what I could find. And if course Kohler is a good brand. Also note that it’s really pretty much a 12” rough in toilet, but with an oversized top making it look closer to the wall. The Toto unit is probably a true 14”.
I knocked off a star, gave it 4 stars, since the original flush mechanism was too weak, and because it isn't a true 14" rough in. But overall I'm happy after upgrading it.
