We bought this following our remodel, as we now have a tall closet, where I store my shoes in boxes up high. This sturdy stepstool is absolutely perfect. We also use it to sit on when putting on our shoes. It doesn't take up much room but does the job. The wood is elegant looking and the unit has held up very well.
