Purchased for a small patio space that was previously mulch and dirt (a cesspool of mosquitos and creepy crawlers). We laid weedblock down first, then some leveling sand, and paver mats we found at our local big box home improvement store. The tile snapped together well. We recently had some trees removed, so the tiles shifted slightly as those areas compact further,but walking on them allows the tiles to easily shift back in place. We were torn initially between pavers (husbands idea) or astroturf (my idea) because of the hot FL sun destroying grass. I wanted a more natural feel in the back area and he wanted stability. This increased our living space back there, has my natural feel with his stable desire, and were the envy of our townhouse community. Best part is, its an easement area, so if they ever need to remove for access, its not permanently laid and can be put right back in place afterwards.

These are fantastic. I am 66 with MS and I just did the entire floor in my fancy she shed by myself. Highly recommended. A patio would be even simpler.
