This worked perfectly between the playroom carpet and the old oak floors in the hallway. For some reason, the carpet installer (all those years ago) had not used anything for the threshold, and the cats had been pulling out the carpet next to the wood. This piece solved the problem! It now looks great, and the cats leave the carpet alone because there's no gap between carpet and wood.

**DONT BE FOOLED** This product is NOT WOOD. Wayfair is falsely advertising this items material. The item material lists wood in the specs. The product title starts with the word wood. When it arrived, it is definitely METAL. I called wayfair, and the customer service rep argued that it says aluminum in the description (and it doesnt). I called the manufacturer and they were upset Wayfair has inaccurately represented their brand. The manufacturer sent me a free wood replacement. I will never trust wayfair after this. Terrible problem-solving and shameful customer service.

Looks great, my carpet was worn on the end and this covered it up, looks like real oak wood would recommend
