Very well constructed, this what I call a solid door, nothing like the contractor grade doors used in new homes.

Very nice and heavy door that fit exactly what we had intended. It is elegant and has a substantial feel. It arrived in perfect condition and was well-handled in delivery. No dents or dings and the delivery team showed up precisely on time. Overall I found installation reasonably easy; although installing a prehung door is never quite so simple. My opening was only 81 11/16" to 81 3/4", slightly less than the advertised required opening of 82 1/4". The frame comes with sufficient room at the base to trim away in order to make it fit and I was able to install without any problem despite the reduced height of my opening. There was plenty of gap under the door to make trimming height from the sides to be inconsequential. When shopping for doors it can often be confusing what is meant by composite vs. solid vs. MDF vs. wood, etc. This door is advertised as MDF, and the exterior is definitely MDF. Very smooth and with a quality feel that is easily paintable. The interior is solid and substantial giving the door weight, but the interior appears to be something more akin to particle board, not MDF. Still, the exterior smoothness and the solid interior give it the weight it needs to be feel like a substantial door and it doesn't matter what the interior is made of as long as it is solid. I like the sound and firmness of this door. Is it worth the $400+ per door? Maybe not, but it is surprisingly difficult to find prehung, MDF solid-core doors of this quality elsewhere. Also shipping was free (and quite easy and reliable) so you are getting a value in that.
