The Homestead Fireplace Mantel Shelf

This is my edited review. My installer came and looked at the second mantel I received - the first was clearly damaged and not usable. The second had these weird black marks randomly on the mantel and he said those marks were part of the “antiquing” look - as well as the indentations. I don’t care for the random marks but maybe someone els would think they add character. So I changed my review from 1 star to 3.

Lack of securing methods unless you bought the entire mantel with the legs etc. No mounting hardware, or information on howwhere to mount above fireplace border. Instructions assume you bought the entire border mantel, legs and all. Color is very nice. Weight is nice.

The sofa looks great. The cushions are quite firm but we can always put a foam pad on it. The cords that make the tufts may be uncomfortable without a pad on top. The fabric is not the best quality, but is perfectly fine for a home office. The dealings with wayfair (order, delivery and set up) we’re exceptional.

The mantel is perfect for my fireplace and it was already prepped for staining or painting. I stained it and it complements the surrounding colors perfectly. A great value for the price and easy to install even in stone.

Very nice look. Mounting bracket was probably not best for a rock wall do I added 2 long screws to bottom for stronger connectivity and 2 decorative iron brackets.
