I selected this vanity for the nice look and feel of the vanity with the white solid wood and white marble top with three holes for the faucet and hot and cold water. The product is sturdy, nice shelving, and drawers as expected. Sadly the wrong version of the vanity arrived.
I ordered the three-hole countertop with backsplash. The manufacturer delivered a one-hole countertop and no backsplash. Before I ordered the vanity I actually spoke with a lady in Wayfair's customer service department and I asked her one question. I said, 'The website states that this vanity does not come with a backsplash, is there a backsplash that matches this vanity's marble countertop that can come with the vanity?' The lady put me on hold and then checked her system. The lady then told me that while the website states no backsplash comes with the system Wayfair's internal system shows a backsplash comes with the vanity. The lady then locked in the price of the vanity because apparently only three vanities remained in stock. I then decided to buy the vanity because I really liked the color and design of the vanity and most of all because the Wayfair employee informed me during the call that a backsplash came with the vanity. If no backsplash came with the vanity, I would not have bought the vanity.
I paid the extra money for the delivery guys, three good guys, to carry the 178-pound vanity upstairs to the second floor. They did. The guys informed me that they are not allowed to unpack the item. I asked them to carry the old marble and sink from my old vanity downstairs. They did so I gave them a $15 tip.
I opened the box and was shocked to see no backsplash and the countertop had only one hole.
I spoke with Frank in customer service. He was very professional and courteous. He understood the issue and placed a request for the manufacturer to respond within two days so I am waiting for the manufacturer to respond and resolve the issue.
I will not bad-mouth the company because I suspect the issue was an honest mistake regarding shipping the wrong vanity with one hole, not three. The backsplash issue is Wayfair's mistake. Hopefully the unused vanity will be picked up and the right replacement will be shipped with a countertop with three holes and Wayfair will add the right matching backsplash. I will update this after the manufacturer contacts me in the next day or two to resolve the problem.
