The door is beautiful and works well once it's up. However, there are many issues with the installation: 1) It is extremely heavy and takes two strong people to move it. 2) It definitely requires a backing board to be put up to mount the rails to. The hollow wall anchors included are a joke for something this heavy. 3) There is no slot in the bottom of the door for the floor guides. In fact, there are 4 large screws preventing you from cutting a slot. These screws must be removed before cutting and replaced afterwards. In addition, the door is not flat and can't be used as a guide for the router without first putting a spacer in place. Given that floor guides are included, it only makes sense that the slot be pre-cut by the manufacturer. Now that the door is up, it works well and looks terrific!

This door is solid and heavy; however, it's made of solid wood/pine. I drilled into it and it was manufactured wood/MDF. Also, the finish is delicate. Door came in a box that was banged up a little and there were nicks and scratches on the door. The scratches don't show; however, the nicks do. Also, the door isn't designed to cover openings that have trim. Additionally, it's best if the door isn't too close to a corner, where spacing for the studs is more critical. I had a lot of difficulty lining it up with studs in our older home where not everything is straight/level, and studs aren't 16" on center. The pre drilled holes in the hanging hardware didn't allow for any flexibility; ovals instead of holes would have been helpful to allow some adjustment. I ended up needing to use a "backer board" to help support this. For the price, you can do better.

Door looks fantastic. Very much a quality door and it is covered with PVC for easy care. No painting, just wipe off when dirty.
