First of all the mantle has a very strong odor. I am sure that they used exterior stain on it which it’s not advised for indoors because it can be toxic. We tried to air it out for 2 days but that didn’t work. We were very disappointed to notice that the price dramatically dropped two days after we received it. It is not worth the price we paid. All it is are 3 pine boards screwed together and we would have to buy a 2x4 to mount it. We have to say that it looks really good.
