Nice door! We added a white piece of wood for the top rail to mount on. Warning, door itself comes in multiple pieces that need to be put together. Luckily the hubby is handy. Once assembled the door looks great and feels heavy and substantial. The vertical line going up and down the middle of the door is not metal but an appliqué in-between the glass. Assembly is long and tedious but the instructions are decent. You need to apply silicone to where the metal meets the glass. The hinges are not standard sizing nor is the position of the handlelatchplate. If you are DIY confident the install will be fine but is not for the novice. For a great and smooth finish, MDF veneer is used on the faces with 3 coats of white primer so you can add the finish of your choice to offer a bit more protection to the wood to last for years to come. The tempered clear glass allows light to brighten your home, saving on energy. This door is meant for interior use and has a trimming allowance of 1/4 in. on each side and 1-in. on the top and bottom. Please note that trimming will damage the finish or the primer, so any edge that was trimmed must be sealed or painted to protect it from moisture.
